My husband and I are new permanent residents to Fort Myers and loved the Chinese food place near our old house in Middleburg, Fl (suburb of Jacksonville). We asked friends for the name of a good Chinese food place and they highly recommended DJs Chinese. We visited with high hopes in locating a new fave Chinese restaurant, and we were deeply disappointed. Ordered our two fave dishes to go, which are chicken and broccoli and house lo mein. The chicken and broccoli was bland and the chicken had a rubbery texture. Standard white rice vs jasmine, which is what we were accustomed to eating. The house lo mein also lacked flavor and consisted of a lot of noodles and minimal of the good stuff, like Chinese vegetables and a variety of meats.

Went here for dim sum after reading an article in the paper and finding out it was no long EL chinese. Was thoroughly impressed with the dim sum and is definitely the best in SWFL, and slightly better than places we have been in Tampa and Orlando. There isn't an extensive menu but they cover the basics and there are a couple of items that I didn't think were good. About 90% of the items on the dim sum menu are good. Their Singapore Mei Fun is excellent and the best I have ever tasted! (that includes numerous Flushing, NY joints) Don't bother looking for other dim sum places, you won't find any better!

Terrible service. We ordered out meal at the same time. Her meal came a dish at a time spread out over 15 minutes. She finished her meal in 30 minutes. We waited another 15 minutes after she finished and I still did not have my food. We flagged down a waitress and asked what was the problem with my order. She said they missed it in the kitchen and it would be another 10 minutes. I finally got my food and my girlfriend had to set another 30 minutes while I ate. Last time for me.

Only problem I had was no description of the food. Had to google most of the items. Real fresh. Soup is tasty. Will be back for more. Very busy restaurant on Sundays !

I ordered multiple dim sum items. They were all lackluster and frankly tastes off. Nothing seemed fresh and I found many things had a funky taste/texture. Won't be back.

Love the dim sum and selection. Been 5 times never a disappointment. Onion pancakes. Just yum. Cook their tofu very nicely

This was tough to rate as dim sum was so so but wanted to give more stars as its tough to make dim sum. Its almost an art to form dumplings. Pricing were very reasonable, service was fare uve to flag down the servers, which is very common in real Chinese rest don't know why but its the norm. Steamed shrimp dumplings were very good considered the dough wasn't too thick, didn't fall apart plus didn't stick to chopsticks. That's the most difficult dough to make. Overall worth a trip esp those crave dim sum on vac.

My husband and I ate at DJ's this past September 21,2014. It was a Sunday, so we expected a bit of a crowd, but were pleasantly surprised that we were able to quickly get a table. DJ's is in the same space formerly known as EL restaurant, and we thought we would give this place a try. Initially I was hopeful as the decor had been toned down somewhat from the horrible pink and purple of the former EL, but alas, a decor change was not enough to salvage a bad experience. EL used to be a great dim sum place, then things changed and went from bad to worse. After a while we stopped going. But I digress. Unfortunately, DJ's has not be able it seems to recover their expertise when it comes to dim sum. We ordered 3 items : The shrimp soup with noodles, 2 spring rolls and beef teriyaki on a stick. The spring rolls arrived first : overly sweet, soup had no broth, impossible to eat noodles, teriyaki was acceptable. Bad experience, may not return.

Looking for a Chinese restaurant to celebrate the year of the goat this place was recommended by a neighbor.,( doesn't anyone celebrate Cinese New a Year in Ft Myers?)! After reading all the negative reviews we were doubtful but all we could find was carry out restaurants. It is not easy to find but it was worth the try because we had a wonderful lunch. Very reasonable, many choices. Many Chinese people eating here which is a good sign.Try it, you will like it!

Had chicken with broccoli to go & the only thing that was good was the chicken:( the broccoli wasn't cooked and my pork fried rice had a horrible taste to it (Almost like a fish taste) and let's not forget my egg roll which had a syrup taste to it! All in all never again.

Busy, busy. If we'd walked in any later, we'd be stuck in a line out the door. Apparently, fort myers is in need of good dim sum. Food is great , service was a bit of a mess, they did not properly staff for the beating they took today. Overall, good experience.

Back for more delicious Dim Sum. The pan fried scallion pancake is a perfect dish. We also loved the turnip cakes which are made first into a soft creamy block then sliced and cut into squares before being fried to give the top and bottom a crispy, crunchy coating. The absolute best was the cuttlefish dim sum. What a delicious seafood treat and a real bargain at $5.95. The Captain enjoyed it all.

Waited over 30 mins before getting a table, there were 6 open tables the entire time but nobody would stop to just clean it up. Very inefficient.

The food was quite good. The staff was friendly. I would definitely recommend it. The best Chinese in Fort Myers.

I was not that impressed. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing. I've never had dim sum before and I was told it was good here. I asked the waitress about it and somehow I got a scallion pancake. It was good but I don't think it was dim sum. The rest of my order was a bean curd with mixed vegetables. I've had better from takeout Chinese restaurants. I may go back and try the dim sum sometime for lunch. Otherwise my first impression was not that great. Back the next dsy for lunch. I found the pork dumplings with chili sauce quite good.

Excellent, some old staff here but none with the attitude like before. They cleaned up the place, it's brighter, more with a cafe feel. Food is good and reasonable. Love the dim sum everyday, have all the expected dishes. Still frequented by Asians so you know it's acceptable. TV still there but no weird music and it's on silent and the news. Glad they are filling a void, hope they are successful. In a strip mall, same location as the old EL restaurant. Near Outback. Free parking. Easy in and out of highway 41

This review is about dim sum not Chinese food for DJ Restaurant. There is no cart dim sum but they so have decent dim sum from their menu. About 20 selections for dim sum. The dim Sum is fresh. Service is friendly. Reasonable prices. We enjoy and recommend the restaurant.

I love the food- the most authentic around. You just have to have patience and ask if any questions. The chef prepares mine as my mood dictates. The atmosphere so so, but I go for the wonderful uniqueness.

Found this place while searching Chinese because we do not care for take outs. Actual Chinese eat in restaurants beginning to be tough to find. It was Sunday night and they were busy. All food fresh, atmosphere casual but clean. Service friendly. We noticed what seemed to be several "regulars" including quite a few Asians so felt encouraged. Portions fairly large. I had Schezean shrimp dish, wife had Chicken and Broccoli, son had Chicken with Black Bean sauce. Everything cooked perfectly. Service a little slow. Definitely a good find.

I orderd dimsum and the House special fried rice and I was a bit disappointed with the fried rice for its bland and seems that they forgot to season it. But the shrimp and pork dumplings are OK. I would still come back though and hope it was just a glitch for the restaurant was full and busy when I picked up my to go order. They were on the dot about when the order will be ready, they said 15 mins and the food was coming out when I got there in exactly 15 mins even with the restaurant being busy and people lined up waiting to be seated.

DJs has the best homemade Chinese food around! The dumplings and Scallion Pancake are remarkable! The main courses are delicious and always enough for another meal. The staff is very friendly and courteous. When you see more Asian families eating there, you know the food has to be great! We are regular customers and have never been disappointed!
